PROG n ROLL Radio Show welcomes Evership, and presents their new album, Evership II. (25/11/2018)

Hello all!
I would like to inform you that, tomorrow on Prog n Roll radio show we will have the members of Evership, as our special guests on the chatbox.
For those who maybe don't know them, I should  say that, Evership is a Progressive Rock band from Nashville, and this year they released their 2nd studio album, Evership II.
Almost 1.5 year ago, we had them again as guests on our show, and presented their 1st album. That was a really great show, with good music and lots of fun, cause they are very cool and fun guys.
So, we prepared a special show for tomorrow, that will include the presentation of their second studio album.
Also, during the show, one of our listeners will have the chance to win a signed CD copy of Evership II, gently offered by the band.
I believe that tomorrow's show will be a fun, and informative one, so try to be there!
I should remind you that Prog n Roll is a bilingual internet radio show, that begins at 20.00 UK time.

BRIT FLOYD Live in Athens (16/11/2018). The setlist and more (pics/videos).

Almost a week ago, Brit Floyd visited Greece for 2 shows. The first one was in Athens and the second one in Thessaloniki. I went to the first one, and I must say that I wasn’t expecting it to be so good!
No, it wasn’t Pink Floyd! But since Pink Floyd belong to the past, this is the closest thing that you can see. Now that we’ve made that clear, let’s move on.

I had doubts if the place that was selected for the gig was going to fit their whole stage show, and as it proved I was right. Many of the things we see in their live videos were missing; like for example the big round screen in the back, with the lights around it. That screen was replaced with another smaller one, but without the lights.
But these things didn’t affect the excellent show they gave. They went on stage exactly on time, and played for almost 3 hours (including a 20-minutes break).
The sound was perfect, the song selection very good, the light show was impressive and synchronized with the music, and I believe that everybody enjoyed it.
Speaking for myself, I had a very pleasant evening, and to be honest, if they will ever come in Athens again, I will go to see them without a second thought. IF you see that they are playing somewhere near you, don’t miss them!
  Here is the concert’s setlist:
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)
Arnold Layne
High Hopes
Another Brick in the Wall Part 2
Mother
Sorrow
Money
Pigs (Three Different Ones)
Part.2:
Speak to Me
Breathe
Time
The Great Gig in the Sky
Take It Back
A Great Day for Freedom
The Dogs of War
Have a Cigar
Wish You Were Here
One of These Days
Southampton Dock
The Final Cut
Comfortably Numb
Encore:
Brain Damage
Eclipse
Run Like Hell

Prog n Roll radio show, incl. special guests. (18/11/18). The complete playlist and more...

Good morning all!
Last night, we had the members of the Italian band Twenty Four Hours on Prog n Roll's chatbox, as our special guests, and presented their new album Close-Lamb-White-Walls. The album's main inspiration were the 4 white albums of Rock music. (Closer by Joy Division, The White Album by The Beatles, The Wall by Pink Floyd and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis).
During the 2 hours of the show, we played 6 songs from their album, mixed with other new and older songs, from many different genres and sub-categories once more.
The chatbox was on fire, and we had some very interesting conversations altogether. Once more we had lots of musicians in our audience, which proves that Prog n Roll has a very devoted musician's fan base. Also, we had a rather "international" chatbox once more, that included people from UK, Italy, Greece, Germany and France.
Furhtermore we did a music quiz, and the winner took as prize a signed CD copy of the album we presented, that was gently offered from the band.
In my opinion, it was a very pleasant and fun show, and the 2 hours passed really fast, with good music and the usual warm and friendly atmosphere on the chatbox.
Here you can check the show's playlist:
1st Part: SERVANTS OF SCIENCE: Tedium Infinitum / AYREON: Love (live) / CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX: Northern Comfort / TWENTY FOUR HOURS: Broken Song.
2nd Part: TWENTY FOUR HOURS: Embryo / GENESIS: Anyway / STEVEN WILSON: Sound of Muzak (live) / COSMOS: Skygarden / TWENTY FOUR HOURS: Adrian.
3rd Part:  AVENGED SEVENFOLD: As Tears go by (quiz) / TWENTY FOUR HOURS: What Use / PETER MURPHY: Strange Kind of Love / DAVID BOWIE: Seven / TWENTY FOUR HOURS: She’s Our Sister.
4rth Part: TWENTY FOUR HOURS: All the World Need is Love / DIFFERENT LIGHT: In the Grand Scheme of Things.
I would like to thank all the people that listened to our show last night. A special thanks to Frank, the band's manager, for arranging the whole thing, and of course Elena, Paolo and Marco who offered the CD and joined our chatbox.
It was a very nice evening and I must thank you all for that!
Prog n Roll will be on air again, on Sunday the 25th of November, with another special show that will be including special guests again, from USA this time.
More info on that, later...

Prog n Roll's special radio party on 11/11/2018. The complete playlist and more...

Hello all!
On Saturday the 10th of November, Just in Case Radio organised a special event/party at a bar in Athens, Greece. It was a great and fun night, where we met with some of our listeners who live here (but not those who are from other cities/countries).
I was one of the 2 DJ's, and I had the first "shift". (When I was younger I was working as a DJ for more than 15 years, so it's always pleasant and fun for me to do that from time to time). My set lasted for 3+ hours, and then the 2nd DJ (and also producer on the radio) took over.
The place was packed, the music was good, and everybody had some great time!
But because, as I wrote above, many people from our audience couldn't be there, we decided to try and "transfer" the party on our show the next day (yesterday). So, during last night's Prog n Roll radio show, we played extended parts from my DJ set, plus a few other songs.
We had a good crowd listening, and the time passed quickly, with good music and the usual fun on the chatbox. As far as I know, we had listeners from Greece, England, N.Ireland, Germany and USA.
Here you can take a look at the complet playlist:

SUPERTRAMP: Babaji / PART OF DJ SET (incl: DAVID BOWIE: Velvet Goldmine / COCKNEY REBEL: Hideway / BRYAN FERRY: A Hard Rain’s a Gonna Fall / GENESIS: Harrold the Barel / BIG BIG TRAIN: Judas Unrepentant) / PART OF DJ SET (incl: DRIFTING SUN: The Wizard / GALAHAD: Termination / GHOST: It’s a Sin) / PORCUPINE TREE: Synesthesia / RIVERSIDE: Cybernetic Pillow / PART OF DJ SET (Incl: The Zeppelin medley +1: LED ZEPPELIN: Whole Lotta Love/Black Dog/Whole Lotta Love/Immigrant Song + GRETA VAN FLEET: Safari Song) / PART OF DJ SET (incl: RUSH: Limelight / RAINBOW: Since You’ve Been Gone / RORY GALLAGHER: Secret Agent) / PART OF DJ SET (incl: STEVE MILLER BAND: Jet Airliner / FLEETWOOD MAC: Don’t Stop / STATUS QUO: Burning Bridges) / PART OF DJ SET (incl. the finale: ROXY MUSIC: Virginia Plain / O.S.T SOUTHPARK: Blame Canada) / PENDRAGON: Masters of Illusion.
I would like to thank all those who came to the event/party on Saturday. It was great to be with all of you; I hope that you enjoyed the music and the warm atmosphere. Also, a very big thanks to all those who are listening and supporting our show for so many years.
Thank you all!

STEVEN WILSON: Home Invasion – In Concert at the Royal Albert Hall (2018). (DVD & 2 CD edition). My review...

On the 2nd of November, the Grammy-nominated Steven Wilson released his latest work, Home Invasion: In Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. For those who still don’t know him, I should say that he was the founder and leader of Porcupine Tree, among other bands and/or projects, such as No-Man and Blackfield to name a few. Since his early days with Porcupine Tree, he is considered as a very talented composer and skillful musician, but now that he follows a solo career, he is able to do whatever he really likes. And as it seems, what he really likes is to surprise his audience (pleasantly or not) with every new release.
So, after the release of To the Bone that caught many people by surprise with its musical turn, this year he returns with the magnificent Home Invasion; a double live CD, supported by DVD or Blue-Ray. (Or it’s the other way round?). (For the vinyl lovers, a special limited edition is going to be released on March 2019).
Home Invasion was filmed and recorded during the last of his 3 sold out performances at the iconic Royal Albert Hall during 'To the Bone' tour. The production is flawless and the sound excellent. As for the tracklist, well… Steven Wilson decided to make a dive into his long career and chose songs from his Porcupine Tree days, up to his latest album. The concert lasted for more than 2.5 hours, and it was a stunning one! (A couple of my friends who live in London were lucky enough to see him during those performances and they were amazed!)
The collection of songs that are included here is very good, and despite each person’s favorites, the truth is that, Wilson covered a very big part of his career in this album. Personally speaking, I would like to see a few more songs from his Porcupine Tree days, but the ones he chose to play are excellent, so I got no complains. Let’s not forget that Porcupine Tree, like it or not, belongs to the past.
Very important in my opinion is the participation of Ninet Tayeb, which was a pleasant surprise to me, cause I wasn’t expecting her to participate in the live shows.
Some of the best moments here are the songs: Pariah, Ancestral, Arriving Somewhere but not Here, Even Less and The Sound of Muzak. But that’s just my personal opinion.
Overall, this Home Invasion: In Concert at the Royal Albert Hall collection is recommended for all fans of Steven Wilson. The British musician takes his fans and listeners on a musical journey through time, as he showcases his eclectic musical work, as well as his talent and charisma. The sound and video quality are fantastic, where one feels like they are experiencing it from the front row of the historic Royal Albert Hall.
Congratulations Mr. Wilson!
A solid 5.0 stars from me.

Hello all!
With a small delay, I finally decided to sit down and write a few things about Sunday's Prog n Roll radio show. Because it was the first show of the month it included the presentation of a concept album, among other things of course.
The album we chose to present this time was Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare, that was released in 1975. It is a legendary album, and a very favourite of mine.
We had a good crowd listening once more, but not as much as other times. Our listeners were mostly from Greece, Germany, UK and Canada.
Here you can take a look at the complete setlist:

1st Part: GHOST: Witch Image / RIVERSIDE: Acid Rain / CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX: The Golden Boy Swallowed by the Sea / URIAH HEEP: Dreams of Yesteryear.
2nd Part: ALICE COOPER: Welcome to My Nightmare / AEROSMITH: Remember / KISS: Calling Dr. Love / ALICE COOPER: Devil’s Food & Black Widow / BLUE OYSTER CULT: Nosferatu.
3rd Part: ALICE COOPER: Some Folks / DAVID BOWIE: Time / ROXY MUSIC: Beauty Queen / ALICE COOPER: Years Ago & Steven.
4rth Part: ASHBURY: End of all Time / SUNCHILD: Grail and Time / RIVERSEA: Drowning in Vertigo / GALASPHEAR 347: The Voice of Beauty Drowned.
I hope that you enjoyed it!
Thank you very much!
