Hello all!
As some of you may have noticed, I am not writing new things on my blog lately, because my everyday schedule was extremely busy. But today I am here to write a few things about last night's Prog n Roll radio show.
We had a rather pleasant and fun show prepared, which was including a small joke for the April's Fools day. So, since the beginning of the show we kept saying that we discover a very rare and unknown recording from the 70's, that we were planning to play as "epic", at the end of our show. For those who aren't familiar with the term "epic", I should say that we are closing each of our shows with a long (over 10 minute long) song, that we call as epic.
And to make it more believable, we said that we found 2 rare recordings, not just one. The first was a radio advertisement The Moody Blues recorded in 1969 for Coca Cola, which we did play. So, as it seemed everybody believe it, especially after we played the advertisement. And near the end of our show, we announced that the epic song we discovered was a very rare collaboration between musicians and actors, and it was including some very serious lyrics, and the people should pay some attention to them. And we played the song 'Sit on My Face' by The Monty Python! You have no idea what happened after that! We had some great fun on the chatbox, cause everybody was surprised and they were laughing. Of course, right after that, we played the normal epic song, which was the beautiful The Cinema Show by Genesis.
If you are interested, take a look at the whole playlist that follows:
Part 1: ERIC CLAPTON: Blues Power / JOE COCKER: Watching the River Flow / ERIC BURDON & WAR: Tobacco Road / THE J GEILS BAND: Wait / THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND: Whipping Post / AL KOOPER & MIKE BLOOMFIELD: That’s Alright Mama.
Part 2: MANFRED MANN’S EARTH BAND: Blinded by the Light / STYX: Crystal Ball / KANSAS: On the Other Side / WISHBONE ASH: Errors of my Way / ATOMIC ROOSTER: Tomorrow Night.
Part 3: BELIEVE: Tumor / RED BAZAR: Sunset for a New World / HOSTSONATEN: On the Sea / CICCADA: She Went for Love.
Part 4: THE MOODY BLUES: Radio commercial for Coke / CURVED AIR: Marie Antoinette / ILLUSION: Beautiful Country / FAIRPORT CONVENTION: Meet on the Ledge / MONTY PYTHON: Sit on my Face / GENESIS: The Cinema Show.
I should also inform you that, on next Sunday the 8th of April, we will not have a show, due to the Orthodox Easter. Prog n Roll will be back on Sunday the 15th, with a special Epic show! Try not to miss that one!
A very big thanks to all those who chose to spend their evening/night with us and our show. Take care all!
Thank you very much!
